What are partner tiers?
Partner tiers are a system to categorize or rank your partners within your partner ecosystem, based on predetermined criteria. These tiers are often used to encourage partners to achieve higher performance levels and to provide a clear structure of benefits and resources corresponding to each level.
For example, you can segment your partners into different tiers like Platinum, Gold, Silver, and Bronze. These would each represent different levels of performance, based on factors like:
- Sales volume
- Training and certification completion
- Engagement
- Duration of partnership
- Customer satisfaction scores
- Marketing contributions
Higher tiers would align with greater incentives, such as higher commission rates, exclusive territories, priority support, or invitations to premium events.
A partner tiering system can help motivate your partners, especially when they can easily access their own tier level and see what they need to do to advance to the next one. This clear pathway for advancement encourages partners to improve their performance. Tiers also allow you to provide resources and support proportionate to the partner’s commitment and contribution.
The best tier structure for your partner program will depend on your specific goals, industry, partners, and customers.
